King Solomon is recognized in history as the wealthiest man who's ever lived. Yet despite all his wealth, Solomon sat down one day and said it was all meaningless. Every pleasure he had pursued, every treasure he owned, he likened it to 'chasing the wind'. Have you ever tried to imagine what chasing wind is like? You cannot even see wind! How on earth is it even sensible to even think about chasing it? Now imagine all the wealth you can ever attain in today's world. It's all meaningless.

Today's reading from Our Daily Bread looks at what is valuable through the writings of Solomon and the conclusion they come to is that its the small things in life that make sense. Like waking up in the morning, taking a breath of fresh air, being able to see, feel, touch. Those are the meaningful things in life.
